Hofstra University will host its fall blood drive?on Tuesday, October 27th?to find out the latest York Blood Center. The drive is going to be held from 8 a.m. to eight p.m. inside Multipurpose Room from the Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center, North Campus.

This year, Hofstra predicted to reach a milestone of 10,000 pints of blood donated since 2001.??

Almost 2,000 men, girls and children within the regional area need blood transfusions everyday.? Since blood is capable of be preserved for 42 days, area hospitals continually face wanted to replenish supplies, mainly in the upcoming wintertime. One pint of blood is burgled components which will save several lives.

Those in need of funds include cancer patients, accident, burn, or trauma victims, toddlers and mothers delivering babies, transplant recipients, surgery patients, and chronically transfused patients troubled with sickle cell disease or thalassemia, notes Doreen Fiscina, of New york Blood Services, the regional division from the Manhattan Blood Center.

Walk-ins are welcome, or donor appointments can be produced by emailing Elizabeth Lorentzen.? A sound photo ID should be applied.
