First-year students on the Physician Assistant Studies Program recently partnered utilizing the Hempstead School District to have educational health workshops to high school children in grades kindergarten through school.?

Four dozen PA students created interactive presentations and activities on preventative diseases like hand washing, good oral cleaning, smoking, nutrition, exercise, mental health, and bullying that shared at nine schools within Hempstead between Feb. 23 and March 19.

The outreach initiative was a fundamental part of PA Studies’ preventative medicine course, taught by Assistant Professors Jessica Steier and Christine Zammit, who played a crucial role in establishing the collaboration with Hempstead school district?officials.???The professors choose to bring the workshops time for the district at a later time and develop workshops for individuals in the way.
